The Spatial Econometrics Advanced Institute is organized yearly by the Spatial Econometrics Association.

Objectives: the school aims at providing a solid background to Master, PhD students and young researchers interested in the analysis of spatial data with particular reference to economic applications (click here to see the detailed program):
* seminars on spatial economics, spatial statistics, spatial econometrics, panel data and spatial panel data
* 68 hours of teaching + 40 hours of computer lab
* final evaluation via exams (not compulsory)
* practical experiences using R, GeoDaSpace, GeoDa and PySAL.

Week I (14th-18th May)
Theoretical Spatial Economics (9 hours)
Instructor: Prof. J.H.P. Paelinck, George Mason University, Fairfax, Viginia.
Spatial Statistics (11 hours)
Instructor: Prof. G. Arbia, University “Cattolica del Sacro Cuore ” of Rome.

Week II (21st-25th May)
Spatial econometrics I (15 hours)
Instructor: Prof. Luc Anselin, Arizona State University.

Week III (28th May - 1st June)
Spatial econometrics II (15 hours)
Instructor: Prof. Ingmar Prucha, University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland.

Week IV (4th-8th June)
Panel data (15 hours of teaching)
Instructor: Prof. Badi H. Baltagi, Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York.

Computer lab 40 hours Practical experiences in spatial econometrics using the R software, GeoDa software and Phyton software.

Final exam, 9th June (not compulsory)
